The snow is starting to thaw. It's been nice having an excuse not to driving for the last two weeks but it will be good for things to go back to normal. Cabin fever is starting to set in as i've spent the majority of this storm cooped up in my apartment alone watching movies.

I just saw the trailer for Empire. Looks sweet. Also, the new issue of Fixed Magazinecan be downloaded. It has some great photos.

Zach, Jake, and Shigeo drove down for the bike film festival this weekend. Thanks to many layers of clothing and copious amounts of coffee we still managed to fight the rain, snow, ice, and wind we were able to still squeeze in some riding and shooting. It was a great weekend with new friends and old ones.

Also, I found out the hard way that canvas vans are not the best for snow.

today's playlist:
Smiths - Hatful of Hollow
Placebo - Meds
Logh - A sunset Panorama

Two photos from last Jaunary's Rain City Fix shoot in seattle.

The older I get the less likely I am, it seems, to go to shows where I’m no familiar with the bands playing. Maybe it's because I’m a music snob or I’m turning into more of a hermit (if that's possible). However, last night Lilly invited me down to the Doug Fir to see Thao Nguyen & The Get Down Stay Down. I had no idea who they were but I gave it a shot. The openers were pretty good. Just your typical indie rock-girl-singer-song-writer-types who dress like old ladies and act as awkward as possible on stage. They weren't bad but nothing special. Thao, however, was fantastic. She was full of energy. Nothing I expected. I hope her records are as fun as she was live.

This weekend is full of fun filled bike related activities. The Bike Film Festival Thursday to Saturday and The Macaframa premiere on Sunday with an alley cat and other events, all of which I’ll be at with my camera in hand.

The times are good.

Thursday work playlist:
Radiohead - Kid A
Radio Dept. - This Past Week EP
Nas - It was Written
Man and Wasp - Close the World Open the Next

My first of many 3-day weekends is complete. I'm going to like this schedule very much. The weekend was great. Filled with bike riding, photo taking, and hanging out with great friends. Saturday afternoon, after the usual SRF Breakfast ride, I watched The King of Kong. If you haven't seen this documentary on the world’s nerdiest gamers, you should.

Playlist so far this morning:
Hoover - The lurid Transversalof Rout 7
Josh White - Light of the World Christmas CD
Kent - Isola

I now live in the dark Monday – Thursday. I get to work at 6:30am before daybreak and leave at 5pm after sunset. I think i'll have to start injecting Vitamin D or start tanning at the gym. This is all so I can have every Friday off to devote to photography. I also have a new website in the works. Hopefully, it will be up in the next few weeks.

This Saturday I saw Bryan Free at a coffee shop in North Portland (I can’t remember the name now). Ever time I see Bryan play he gets better and better. He did play a song from a musical he is working on. I think it has to do with robots. I can’t think of a better idea for a musical.

In other news: Thanksgiving was nice. I spent the time relaxing with family and stuffing my face. I’m looking forward to a low key christmas as well.

Todays Playlist:
