I photographed a wedding in Astoria yesterday. On the drive home I stopped at the cemetery where my mom is buried and shot these photos. The first one was taken about 5 feet from her grave. I don’t think she could have been buried in a more beautiful place, not that that really matters. Standing there alone was awkward, to say the least. In what was probably an attempt at disassociation I began to wonder if it would be better to lose someone with warning rather than suddenly. I concluded there is no way to prepare. Any preparation would amount to a flinch before a sucker punch. Today marked 5 months.

Wednesdays are turning out to be my favorite day of the week and yesterday was no exception. The busy day out and about was capped off at the Ace Hotel with a delicious bottle of Orval and good times with some kids from Solid Rock. I snooped around the hotel for a bit with my camera:
